Competitive Gymnastics

Gymnasts are selected to be part of our competitive squad when they are shown to have both physical and mental potential – this includes but is not limited to: flexibility, strength, explosive power, awareness of body shape, excellent attitude etc. In the majority of instances, gymnasts are first placed in a “development” group in order to hone their skills until their coaches have judged that they are ready to move into the Competitive classes.

The competition season runs from May-August. Gymnasts attend a number of competitions during the year in order to achieve the required marks to move to the next level. Gymnasts in Step 5 and above, or Level 4 and above, may compete at Nationals upon accomplishing a qualification score.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Steps Program
